1. Personal Background: The Journey to Bismarck and Beyond

Hannah’s roots are spread across North Dakota due to her dad’s role in the National Guard. Although she’s lived in various parts of the state, Bismarck is where she calls home. She’s currently pursuing a marketing degree and is deeply involved in student life at UND.You’ll find her juggling roles as an active member of Alpha Chi Omega, UND DECA, and working as the marketing and community engagement intern at First Community Credit Union, a partner with UND Athletics.

Outside of her studies and organizations, Hannah loves staying active.

“I enjoy going on runs, watching How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days with my Alpha Chi sisters, and going to yoga,”

2. Pageantry: Connecting with the Community and Preparing for the Future

When asked about her favorite part of pageantry, Hannah lights up: “It’s definitely the opportunity to connect with kids in the community. There’s something so special about a little girl coming up to you for a picture.” For her, pageantry goes beyond the crown—it’s about being a positive role model and making a difference in young lives.

Pageantry has also helped Hannah develop skills that will serve her future career. From mastering interview techniques to personal branding as a titleholder, she’s learned how to present her best self both on stage and in the professional world. “I think the Miss North Dakota Scholarship Organization has truly set me up for success,” she adds.

3. Memorable Moments as Miss Grand Forks

Hannah’s journey to becoming Miss Grand Forks is filled with touching memories, but one stands out above the rest. Right after her private interview for the title, Rachel, a board member of the North Dakota Scholarship Organization (and a fellow UND Nistler marketing grad!), gave her a big hug. “Rachel has always been a role model for me,” Hannah shares. That connection made the moment all the more meaningful.

Her favorite moment as Miss Grand Forks so far? Lining up for the UND homecoming parade. “I felt a little person hug me, and when I looked down, this adorable girl said, ‘I just love you so much!’” She soon found out the girl was part of a dance team and thought Hannah was Elsa from Frozen. They spent time chatting about dance and overcoming nerves. “It was such a special moment,” Hannah recalls fondly.

4. Balancing Studies, Pageants, and Life: Google Calendar to the Rescue!

How does Hannah juggle her studies, pageant duties, and personal life? One word: organization. “Google Calendar is my best friend.” Being intentional with her time is key, especially when it comes to studying. “I like to head to Nistler in the mornings when I don’t have much going on. It’s my go-to place for uninterrupted study time.”

5. Growing at Nistler College: A Supportive Environment

For Hannah, the Nistler College of Business and Public Administration has played a major role in her personal and professional growth. “Nistler has provided so many resources that have helped me,” she explains. Beyond the academics, Hannah feels a strong sense of support from everyone at the college, including her advisor Jackie. “She’s truly the best,” Hannah adds, expressing gratitude for the flexibility and encouragement she’s received as both a student and a titleholder.

From balancing her busy schedule to making meaningful connections in the community, Hannah’s journey is as inspiring as it is unique. With her marketing degree in the works, pageant titles under her belt, and a heart for community engagement, there’s no doubt she’s destined for great things—both on and off the stage!
