Addie Carver, of Mississippi, is the new Miss Teen USA.The 17-year-old dance teacher, cheerleader and choreographer was crowned at a glitzy Los Angeles event Thursday. Carver, of Brookhaven, is a junior at Lawrence County High School, where she is ranked in the Top 10 of her class.Prior to being crowned, Carver mentioned her own mental health struggles and her desire to help little girls who are also struggling.The pageant followed this year’s shocking double resignation, when 2023’s Miss USA and Miss Teen USA became the first winners of either contest to ever give back their crowns. Last year’s Miss Teen USA cited a clash in “personal values” with the Miss USA organization as the reason for giving up the crown.
